Fairgrounds Department

The Elbert County Fairgrounds is located in the Town of Kiowa. We are NE of Colorado Springs, straight east of Castle Rock on State Highway 86 and SE of Denver.

The grounds can be leased for many different functions. Just to name a few:

Dog shows
Festivals
Rodeos
Horse shows
Llama shows
Roping
Barrel racing
Cattle shows/sales
Auctions
Tool sales
Antique sales
Wedding receptions
Car club shows
Tractor club shows
Boy Scout functions
Girl Scout functions
4-H Clubs

The fairgrounds has two outdoor arenas, both with PS systems. There is a covered beef barn (sides are open), covered horse stalls, a pavilion, covered grandstands, etc.

Also, there is a campground which is used at capacity during fair week, is a convenience for two day events, and for RVs passing through or visiting friends/relatives in the area for up to a month's stay. We have open grassy areas which the Celtic Festival uses for their highlander games each year. We have had hot air tethered balloon rides and model rocket demonstrations. A number of years ago, we hosted a large group to watch meteor showers. Also, there is a 4th of July fireworks show each year.
