Fairgrounds Department Elbert County Master Plan Here is the draft Fairgrounds Master Plan to be posted on the web site for public comment. We would like all comments in writing and submitted to Kyrei Zion, Fairgrounds Manager. Comments will be accepted until April 15th. Email:kyrei.zion@elbertcounty-co.gov or Fax to 303-621-3200 The Elbert County Fairgrounds is located in the Town of Kiowa. We are NE of Colorado Springs, straight east of Castle Rock on State Highway 86 and SE of Denver. The grounds can be leased for many different functions. Just to name a few:
Also, there is a campground which is used at capacity during fair week, is a convenience for two day events, and for RVs passing through or visiting friends/relatives in the area for up to a month's stay. We have open grassy areas which the Celtic Festival uses for their highlander games each year. We have had hot air tethered balloon rides and model rocket demonstrations. A number of years ago, we hosted a large group to watch meteor showers. Also, there is a 4th of July fireworks show each year. Back to Departments |
