Emergencies and disasters can come whether we are prepared are not, so taking the extra steps to be as ready as possible can make all the difference.  Although we are always striving to be more resilient as a county for any all-hazard event. Ultimately, it’s up to you to make the best choice so you and your family are as prepared as possible.  However, we’ll help provide you with the tools you need to get started.

Gate Codes
In an emergency the Sheriff’s Office may need to gain access to your property.  By registering your gate code information responders can quickly gain access to your property and increase response times.

Individual with Disabilities

Accessible Emergency Information has put together an emergency information page for individuals with disabilities.  This page consists of 18 Emergency Preparedness Topics which are formatted to be used by the deaf, blind and limited sight populations.  http://www.accessibleemergencyinfo.com/

Preparedness Classes

  • Be Ready
    No Classes are currently scheduled at this time
  • Weather Spotter
    These are FREE classes open to the public which begin during the spring of every year.  Elbert County will normally have two separate classes in different areas around the county that the public freely attend.  Registration can be made by clicking the following link: http://www.weather.gov/bou/spot_training
