Here is a quick update on the next stage of snow removal from Public Works.

The current plan is to deploy all County Snow equipment between 2:00a.m. to 3:00a.m. providing the wind is calming down. However it is anticipated that it will take several hours to clear the arterial roads, crews will then move to the side streets, and finishing in the subdivisions. There are several factors that can slow this process, i.e. the weather doesn’t let up, equipment failure, or stuck drivers. This slows the removal process. This has been a significant storm for our area.

Elbert County, CO – Elbert County Commissioners bring a new organizational structure to local government for 2012. County commissioners continue to lead the charge for better spending, and services to the taxpayers of Elbert County. Announcing the reorganization to staff on January 10, 2012, below is a look at the Elbert County Changes effective immediately.
We have established the Elbert County Public Works Department, led by Public Works Director Ed Ehmann. The department consists of the Road and Bridge, Facilities Maintenance, and Fairground departments. This consolidation ensures better use of county resources and provides proven leadership among our facilities organization. This reorganization has reduced current management structures to provide additional savings in the counties largest operational budget.
Additionally, we have established the Department of Administrative Services, led by Administrative Services Director, Cherie Radeker. The department consists of the Human Resources Office, County Administration and Accounting, and Executive Assistant to the Board of County Commissioners . This office now provides oversight to Human Resources, Administration, and serves as Executive to the Board of County Commissioners.
Reorganizational changes to Administrative Services and Public Works project fiscal savings for 2012 and these efforts lead the way to exceed demands for government services. For more information on these changes or any other county office, contact the public information officer listed above. Information is always available at www.elbertcounty-co.gov and follow us on Facebook at Elbert County Public Information Page.
