Description: VICTIM ADVOCATE
Essential Duties:*Offer immediate crisis intervention to victims of crime and survivors of death and trauma, either on scene or by phone
*Ensure victims are aware of their rights as provided by the Constitution of the State of Colorado (C.R.S. § 24-4.1-302)
*Serve as an informed source of support to the victim during the immediate crisis. *Assess victim needs and provide information and referrals for follow-up services
*Act as a liaison between victims and the criminal justice system
*Part-Time Advocates are required to commit to a minimum of 2 shifts per month for a minimum of 2 years.
*Attend monthly support and training meetings
Qualifications:
*Must possess a High School Diploma or GED
* One (1) year experience in a victim assistance program or other non profit victim oriented program is preferred
*Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license and have a good driving record
*Must have reliable transportation with motor vehicle insurance
*Must be able to work on-call schedule which includes nights, weekends and holidays
*Must possess sensitivity and good communication skills in working with crime victims
*Must have the ability to work well with members of the community, specifically law enforcement officers and other community organizations
*Must successfully complete an initial 40-hour training session.
The selection process includes a background investigation, computerized voice stress analysis test, and integrity interview. Candidates must successfully pass all parts of the selection process to be considered for the program.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Elbert County Government is seeking a highly motivated Network Systems Specialist with a solid background in Microsoft Networks and Desktop Systems. This position is ideal for a motivated, self-driven network technician, who embraces technical challenges and enjoys working with exciting and emerging technologies.
The Network Systems Specialist will perform the day-to-day activities of managing basic IT infrastructure, local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) in Microsoft environments, and will be the front line for IT infrastructure development and support. This position requires active participation in the inner workings of the department as well as, self-driven motivation to learn new concepts for assisting the team in delivering IT excellence.

Job Description Summary: The Board of County Commissioners of Elbert County, Colorado, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time County Attorney position to serve as general counsel to the Board of County Commissioners.
Elbert County is nestled on the east side of Denver and Colorado Springs, encompassing approximately 1,854 square miles, with a population of approximately 22,000. While remaining rural on the eastern side, the western side is becoming more urban, with the majority of residents commuting to the Denver metro area to work. In light of the ongoing complex legal issues facing county governments, the Board of County Commissioners desires to consider the natural transition from contract County Attorney representation to a full time County Attorney employee.
Duties: The County Attorney serves as the primary in-house legal counsel to the Elbert County Board of County Commissioners, and provides legal representation and advice to the County Commissioners, as well as the various Departments of Elbert County government. The County Attorney is also responsible for representing Elbert County in all civil legal business matters, and in prosecuting and defending civil actions and proceedings brought by or against Elbert County. The County Attorney manages and ensures an efficient and effective workflow in support of the County Commissioners, and establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Elbert County staff and representatives from outside agencies.
Qualifications: This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced attorney with local government experience and/or significant knowledge of local government matters, particularly in the areas of administrative law, land use, local government law, contract law, real property law, zoning & building code enforcement and employment law. The successful candidate must be a dynamic individual with proven leadership and management skills who is able to coordinate numerous priorities while effectively supporting the legal needs of Elbert County government in a fast paced setting.
