Elbert County is accepting applications for a, full-time Blade/Equipment Operator for the Road & Bridge Department.
This position requires good physical condition and the ability to perform manual labor. The position includes, but is not limited to the following: maintaining gravel roads, snow removal, minor maintenance of equipment to include daily inspections, and must be willing and able to respond to emergencies and on call snow removal as needed.
Requires a high school diploma or GED. One year of progressively responsible roadway maintenance experience. Also requires a valid State of Colorado Class “B” drivers license with air brake endorsement.

SALARY RANGE:
$24.04 - $28.85 Hourly
$4166.67 - $5,000.00 Monthly
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 Annually
Elbert County Government is accepting applications for a full-time Communications Manager to oversee the Elbert County Dispatch Center as well as, the Information Technology Department. THIS POSITION REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE ELBERT COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.
This position plans, manages and administers the County of Elbert Communications Center and Technology Information Department including the activities and operations of dispatch services and 911 communications for fire, emergency medical services and law enforcement.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing the Communications Center along with the Information Technology Department. Develop and implement goals, objectives, policies and priorities for Center. Assume responsibility for planning and implementing resources necessary to deliver required dispatch services. Establish division policies. Prepare and monitor program budget, including expenditures. The ability to negotiate contractual arrangements. Coordinate Information Technology with various projects regarding all computer/technology related equipment. Oversee the selection, supervision, evaluation, training and discipline of staff. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in business/public administration and criminal justice are desired however, not required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skill and abilities may be considered. Selected candidate may be required to submit proof, in the form of official transcripts, of the highest level of education attached by the applicant that is indicated on the application and/or resume prior to the date of hire.
Experience: At least five (5) years progressively responsible experience in public safety, dispatch and or communication with at least three (3) years management or supervisory experience.
Knowledge: Knowledge of operation, management and technology of a state-of-the art communications center including computed aided dispatch, E911 telephone systems, trunked radio systems, GIS/GPS, and mobile data computer systems.
Ability: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, citizens and elected officials; handle sensitive situation with tact and diplomacy; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and fulfill goals and objectives; direct and effectively supervise other employees; administer budgets; handle vendor relationships and negotiations.
Skills: Strong interpersonal and managerial skills required. Confidentiality a must.
