Veterans Services

Continuity of Service

Elbert County salutes the tremendous service that Ric Morgan has provided our veterans for the past 26 years and we join our community in mourning his passing. Ric had a passion for serving veterans and we know his focus would be on ensuring high-quality and timely service continues.  That now becomes our mission.

Until his position is filled, the El Paso County Veterans Service Office will provide interim support to Elbert County.  Please note the updated contact information on the right side of this page and do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Serving Those Who Served Us

The Elbert County Veterans Services Officer provides assistance to any veteran, or their family in making sure that they get all veterans rights or benefits to which they are entitled. We act as the advocate for the veteran by assisting in filing Veteran's Administration (VA) claims, coordinating with state and federal agencies, assisting with avenues for appeal when necessary, as well as a wide variety of other services.

It is in the best interests of Elbert County to make sure our local veterans and their families receive all the rights and benefits stemming from their service in our armed forces. We help Elbert County veterans submit successful claims packages to the VA, ensuring that veterans rights are protected, and helping to track the status of VA claims through to completion.

The point is to make sure veterans and their families get the benefits to which they're entitled. The VA bureaucratic process can be a sometimes frustrating and withering experience, and that's where your Elbert County Veterans Service Officer can help. This service is provided by Elbert County at no cost to the veteran or their family.
