All building permits must be designed to meet 2018 I Codes. Please review the design criteria table for more information. In addition to correct codes and design criteria, please ensure all plans are designed for Elbert County. Plans containing incorrect information or criteria can cause delays in permitting. For more information on our design criteria please see our Design Table.
All permit application packets begin with a checklist of required items. These required items must be included at the time of your submittal. If a submittal is missing any items from the checklist or packet (this includes, required permits from other county departments, signatures on forms, plans or any other items outlined in the packet) your application will be considered incomplete and we will require you to resubmit with all documents. We are not able to hold onto partial submittals or incomplete applications.
It shall be the sole responsibility of the property owner and/or permit holder to verify all utilities and easements including water, sewer, well, septic, electric, phone, cable, fiber optic, and gas prior to excavation or construction of any structure.
