Elbert County Department of Human Services Recognized by the State of Colorado as a Distinguished Performer

In July, the State of Colorado’s Department of Human Services recognized Elbert County’s Human Services Department for its achievements in meeting many of the performance measures tracked in the state’s C-Stat system, which tracks county-level performance on measures such as timeliness of application processing for financial and food assistance; error rates on payments; collection and distribution of child support payments; and other measures relating to abuse and neglect cases.

Elbert County performed in the top third of Colorado’s 64 counties, and will be recognized as a Distinguished Performance 2020 award winner for this achievement.

“Our team here in Elbert County is remarkable in so many ways,” said Jerri Spear, Health and Human Services Director. “They care deeply for the clients they serve in so many different programs, and take great pride in exceeding expectations. There’s still work to be done, but this award recognizes their hard work, and I appreciate it.”

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, an in-person award ceremony will not be held to recognize this achievement. Instead, the department will receive a plaque and a virtual celebration of their staff this summer.
