Elbert County Commissioners Dedicate Fairgrounds Building in Memory of Roger Lee Evans

At their regular meeting on July 24, Commissioners Richardson, Thayer and Pettitt adopted a proclamation dedicating the Elbert County Fairgrounds Agricultural building in memory of Roger Lee Evans, recognizing his lifetime of extraordinary contributions to our community. Mr. Evans, who passed away in November 2018 and who was lovingly known by his family and many friends as "Freddy 4-H'er," was dedicated to the ideals of 4-H and selflessly supported and encouraged 4-H youth throughout his long involvement with the Elbert and Douglas County Fair Boards. Commissioners were honored to have his family in attendance this morning to receive the proclamation.
